Our vision is to deliver sustainable high quality, local health and care services, that are suited to the needs of the population; to make best use of our community strength, community spirit and involvement; for people to make healthy lifestyle choices, and use their knowledge and own capacity to look after themselves and each other.

We believe that team-working is essential to helping shape our service working with our social care colleagues to bring a truly integrated community service to people living in Shetland. You will be part of a small team of staff that provides quality, person-centred, safe and effective services to the population, delivered in the most appropriate setting for the patient. We are committed to providing appropriate nursing care out of hours. We want you to have the opportunity to develop your own skills and knowledge in the management of a caseload whilst providing anticipatory and holistic nursing care to meet a diverse range of health needs.

To join our team, you will need to show us your enthusiasm and tell us about your nursing experience; we’re happy to hear from newly qualified nurses as well as experienced nurses looking for a new challenge. We’ll be looking at your communication skills and asking about your experience in leading initiatives to develop community services. Our small teams undertake a wide range of clinical skills; assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating nursing care for the practice population. You will need to be able to drive and participate in our regular on-call rota.

This contract is for a fixed-term until 31/03/2018. The reason for the fixed-term contract is secondment cover. If you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss with your line manager before submitting an application.
