Learning Disabilities Nurse (Ref: IRC9636)

Band – 7 Salary Range £31,696 - £41,787 per annum

Full Time Post – 37.5 hours per week

Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available

The Learning Disabilities Nurse is a single-handed postholder who is responsible for the provision of a nursing service, on a Shetland wide basis, to individuals with a learning disability and / or autism, promoting independence, dignity, choice and health and well-being.

As Named Nurse, the postholder will undertake comprehensive assessment of the physical, psychological and social care needs of service users.

The Learning Disabilities Nurse is responsible for providing support, advice and education to individuals, families, carers and staff across primary, secondary and community services and for leading key service developments.

The postholder is supported by a visiting Learning Disability Consultant Psychiatrist and Consultant Clinical Psychologist from specialist services based in NHS Grampian.

We offer relocation assistance of up to £8,000 and all posts qualify for a Distant Island Allowance of £1,721 per annum (pro rata for part-time and fixed term positions).
