NHS Shetland Community Nursing Service, in line with the Chief Nursing Officer for Scotland Transforming Nursing Roles groups, is reviewing our nursing roles to "push the boundaries of how we meet Health and Social Care needs" in Shetland

We provide nursing care and support to all residents and visitors Shetland both within the home and within health and care environments. We are changing how we deliver services so that we are ready to meet the needs of the population, as well as challenge of continuing to provide excellent nursing care to our community towards 2030 and beyond.

We’re looking for dynamic, flexible nurses from all backgrounds and experiences to help us take our service forward.

We’re looking for nurses who will embrace the changes in the nursing role as we move forward and develop these to meet our community’s future needs.

If you are interested in being part of our future and do not already work in a Community setting, we can support your development to enable you to gain the appropriate knowledge and skills.

If you are a Community based nurse, there will be opportunities to enhance your clinical skills and we can support your clinical advancement as well as supporting your ambition to lead and manage your own nursing team.

If this sounds like the opportunity you were looking for, come and join our already successful team, we’d love to work with you!

If you want to know more about any of the opportunities we have available for you in our team, please contact

Mr Ian Sandilands, Clinical Team Leader (South) on 07880788615 or 01595743339 or ian.sandilands@nhs.net
