Band 6 – £28,050 -£37,010

Full Time – 37.5 hours per week plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,738 per annum

Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available

Do you want to live and work amongst a small, friendly community on one of the most Northerly Islands in Britain? Are you Passionate about Nursing and possess Community Nursing experience or a Nurse Practitioner Qualification? We are looking for an enthusiastic forward thinking Community Nurse / Nurse Practitioner to join our team.

Working together with other members of the multidisciplinary team to achieve the Community Health and Care Partnership’s Vision:“To ensure that everyone in Shetland is able to live and participate in a safe, vibrant and healthy community,” the post holder will be based at Yell Health Centre, on one of the most northerly islands of the British Isles, and will assist the caseload holder to deliver care to the practice population providing person-centred, effective, safe services to an island population of approx 988 people.

This is an exciting time to join community services in NHS Shetland where we are working with our colleagues in social care to progress the integration of health and social care services. The Community Nurse/ Nurse Practitioner has a key role in working with other NHS Staff, care staff and the third sector to turn this vision into a reality in order to develop services which meet the current and future needs of this community.

You will demonstrate visionary leadership, and be able to support the development and education of community and student nurses as well as social care staff to deliver patient care against local and national policies. You will be able to drive, participate in and ensure delivery of both a weekend and overnight on-call 24 hour Nursing Service for Yell. It is essential that you stay in Yell for your on call duties.
